Yes-we have a busy tax season but the workload is less at other times in the year. And we don’t have prescribed in-office time. Senior Accountant-Audit
We are committed to using our accounting knowledge to help our clients develop their organizations to their fullest potential. Correspondingly, we want to grow our team members to their fullest potential.
As a Senior Auditor, you’ll report to a Manager and benefit from their guidance and support. We believe the following qualifications and skills will make a valuable contribution to our team:
- Minimum 3 years’ public firm experience
- CPA license or equivalent
- Strong audit, accounting and analytical skills
- Proven experience completing audits, reviews and compilations from start to finish
- Familiarity with financial software resources such as Thomson Reuters
- Experience with Workpaper CS or other audit software is ideal but training will be provided
- Familiar with grants, contributions, and restricted funds
- Work independently & as part of a team directly serving clients
- Self-starter with the desire and ability to increase responsibility and grow professionally
- Strong communications skills for both written and oral communications
- Ability to communicate accounting information clearly to client
- Experience working in a paperless and remote environment
- Use of ShareFile or other file exchange software such as DropBox
- Nonprofit experience preferred. Municipal experience a plus. Single audit experience a plus
Responsibilities of the work you’ll be doing include but are not limited to:
- Complete audits, reviews, and compilations from start to finish
- Review and assess risk
- Agree balances to bank reconciliations and investment statements
- Update fixed asset register for fixed asset additions and deletions and depreciation and accumulated depreciation for the current year
- Testing and reconciliation of receivables and payables
- Agree balances and schedules to original source documentation such as receipts, invoices, bills, or letters of support. Recognize items that may not be in agreement
- Reconcile cash, investments, debt, revenues, and expenses to external bank, donor, or vendor confirmations
- Review grant and loan agreements and extract applicable information
- Update debt schedules
- Payroll analytics with payroll, benefits, pension, and post-employment benefits
- Reconcile payroll to government reporting forms
- Analytics of various balances and reconciliations as needed
- Prepare adjusting entries as needed
- Testing and analysis of other audit segments as needed
- Prepare financial statements
- Adjust trial balance as needed based on workpapers
- Prepare grouping schedules
- Review and reconcile financial statement to make sure all statements are in balances and reconcile to each other and to the trial balance
- Update footnotes
- Prepare footnotes from examples and modify for client
- Additional activities including but not limited to:
- Complete checklists and work programs
- Understanding of audit procedures and the workpapers that relate to support various procedures
- Link audit workpapers to trial balance
- Research application of audit principles
- Import and export information
- Review work of other staff and answer staff questions
- Keep manager informed of work progress and ask questions

Senior Accountant-Tax

- Three to five years of recent public accounting experience
- Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and client relationships
- Ability to explain tax concepts to clients clearly and with care
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency in a paperless tax environment
- CPA license or EA, preferred
Responsibilities of the work you’ll be doing include but are not limited to:
- Developing and managing client relationships and providing tax solutions and other consulting for clients
- Researching taxation changes, trends and strategies
- Preparing complex individual, partnership, corporate, nonprofit and estate and other tax returns using paperless procedures
- Identifying and communicating tax matters to managers and directors
- Representing clients before the IRS

1st Level Tax Preparer
Bee, bergvall & Co. seeks a detail-oriented individual for a 1st Level tax preparer position for a 12-week internship or 12-week seasonal position. This is a part-time, temporary position for 15 to 25 hours per week from mid-January to mid-April.
The 1st level tax preparer is the beginning stage of the tax process. The position will involve verifying the accuracy of imported tax data into a tax program to prepare individual tax returns. The individual will also be responsible for correcting data as needed.
Training and support will be provided. This is an in-office position at our Warrington location. The hours are flexible and could be worked over a 3-to-5-day period.
The ideal person will:
- Have a strong eye for detail and finding mistakes
- Be able to learn new software and be comfortable with computer technology
- Work on a computer at least 3 to 5 hours per day
- Enjoy the detail-oriented nature of the work
Knowledge of accounting or taxes are a plus, but not required.

Reviewer-Tax
Excellent part-time opportunity for a CPA with 5+ years public firm experience to work at our Bucks County CPA firm. We will also consider remote applicants. The candidate will review federal, state and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, fiduciaries and exempt organizations.

Manager-Tax
Bee, Bergvall & Co is looking for a strong Tax Manager with the following qualifications.
- Minimum 7 years of public accounting experience at national, regional or local firm
- CPA having already attained the position of manager at their current CPA firm
- Significant experience with individual, partnership, corporate, estate and trust returns
- Significant experience in a paperless environment using tax software
- Able to manage client relationships from start to finish in a timely and efficient manner
- Ability to meet with prospective clients and prepare proposals in response to RFP for business clients
- Attend industry meetings and conferences and network with clients and potential clients
- Ability to train, supervise, and manage staff including review of returns and related workpapers, provision of review comments and follow up
- Maintain client relationships throughout the year, sharing knowledge with the client and adding value to the client relationship
- Provide value to overall firm strategy and management
- Actively participate in the firm’s marketing program
The ideal candidate will:
- Have regional firm experience
- Aspire to become partner
- Demonstrate commitment to our industries served through Board or committee involvement within industry associations
- Have experience generating new clients and services for current clients
- Meet with business clients throughout the year. Most of our clients are in Bucks and Montgomery County with some clients in other surrounding areas
Although the ability to meet with our business clients is ideal, we are open to remote or hybrid work arrangements. Also, while this is a full-time position, we would also be open to considering other options.

Internships
Gain in-depth, practical exposure within an accounting business environment. We have opportunities for 2 Interns (in their Junior/Senior year) to work in our Tax & Audit Departments from January-May.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prefer completion of Tax Preparation course and Intermediate Accounting 1 & 2 courses, but not a requirement
- Be available to work 15-20 hours per week, ideally in 6 to 8-hour segments
- Reliable transportation
- GPA of 3.2 or above
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
